Society of Engineering Education Malaysia (SEEM)


The Society of Engineering Education Malaysia (SEEM) was established in 2007 and officially launched on the 23rd of February 2009 with the main aim of serving and promoting the development of engineering, science and technology education in Malaysia.

Apart from SEEM's involvement in disseminating knowledge in engineering education through research, conferences, seminars, talks and publications, SEEM also aspires to work together with engineering education players in setting out direction on future engineering education in Malaysia.

Services and support that are provided by SEEM include:

  •     Formation of the direction and responsibility of engineering education to national prosperity.
  •     Coordination purposes and engineering education programmes in engineering educational institutions, industry and professional bodies and the public.
  •     Improvement of teaching materials and methods of implementation.
  •     Coordination of conferences, workshops and seminars in improving the quality of engineering education.
  •     Promotion of research collaboration between members of the society

Since 2012, SEEM has officially joined the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) as a Silver Level Member. Through the collaboration among its members that represents diversity in engineering education interests and global network, SEEM desire to identify and support changes required to provide global engineering graduates in facing the 21st Century challenges.

In line with the society's aspiration, SEEM seeks to lead the effort in providing the platform for academic leaders, institutions and industries as a collective strength to enhance engineering education in the ASIA region.
